I love vintage jewellery and have a passion for Art Deco channel set diamante jewellery! The pieces here are a small selection of my stock. They are the older, Art Deco pieces - 1920/1930's. I also have a good stock of the later 1950/60 pieces. These often have coloured stones or mother of pearl set in. Sometime the later pieces were marked Randel or DoSo - but I do not know anything about the makers - except that they would have been German. The earlier pieces were sometimes marked DRGM but this is not a maker but a quality control mark. If you are interested in purchasing these items - or similar - please contact me through my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - or ring me at Grays Antiques (central London) on 02074998121.

LEA STEIN BROOCH - THE PEACOCK - GREEN BODY
This is the Lea Stein peacock brooch. It has a vibrant green body. The feathers are in a ?Liberty print material - black background with circles. These prints are getting harder to find - especially in the peacock brooch and I was glad to get this one. This means it is a bit more expensive than some of my Lea Steins. It all depends on what I paid, and whether I think I can get another! Price £85 reference 2724 C3/26 www.gillianhorsup.com - I usually have a good selection in my shop at Vintage Modes, Grays antiques in central London.

ART DECO NECKLACE - GREEN OPAQUE BEADS WITH GALALITH SQUARES
This is an Art Deco necklace - probably French. It has mottled, opaque green glass beads with small squares of (probably) galalith and small, white metal, decorated spacer beads. It is on chain and has a white metal clasp. It measures approx. 17 1/2 inches. It is nice to get a totally original necklace from this period. It do not think this one has been altered, added to, or repaired. It has been well looked after in it's 70 odd years of life! DE LUXE - POSY HOLDER - VINTAGE GLASS FLOWERS AND LEAVES SPRAY BROOCH
This brooch has been made by De Luxe - who specialise in making contemporary pieces from old components. I have included it in the vintage section as the most important components are glass vintage pieces. I understand that this is a sample. It consists of a posy holder in white metal with wires holding vintage glass flowers and leaves - in white, orange and green colours. The flowers have a diamente centre. For some reason there is one pearl! This brooch is obviously made by hand. The glass pieces are held in place by twisted wires. I do not know if this brooch went into production. I love this brooch - it is quirky and considerable effort has gone into making it! Price £65 Reference 2712 C3/13 www.gillianhorsup.com #DeLuxePosyHolderBrooch

CZECH NECKLACE C 1930'S - ORANGE GLASS & METALWORK
I am a lover of Czech vintage jewellery and have just got this pendant necklace. Probably from the 1930's - it has orange glass cabochon stones and, although the metal work was originally silver metal on brass, it has aged to a nice combination of the two. The chain contains orange glass beads and two long thin glass beads - which luckily are still in one piece. See full description on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.

ART DECO NECKLACE - GREEN & BLACK GLASS WITH DIAMENTE RONDELS
I spend a lot of my time restoring rows of beads. Sometimes they are missing beads, sometimes the thread will soon break and sometimes someone else has done a poor job of restringing them. This row had some lovely translucent faceted green glass deco beads - but the necklace was a mess! See my web site for the complete description of the transformation. http://www.gillianhorsup.com/product_info.php/products_id/2118 - it took me a while to sort it out. GOLD TONE, VINTAGE MESH BAG
This is a gold tone, vintage mesh bag - probably 1950/60s. It has to be post 1949 - as it is marked 'West Germany'. Chromophilia Exhibition October 2014
Yesterday I went to the Chromophilia Exhibition. My friend Sue Kreitzman had pieces of her work in the exhibition - and helped to curate it. I met up with Sue and Anne Sophie Cochevelou. They both make their own jewellery. Anne Sophie had made a new necklace for Sue - but in this picture Sue is wearing one she had made herself. Sophie is wearing some of her Barbie jewellery. I do love to see what people make themselves to wear! The event was very colourful - but I was in the mood to wear black!

ART DECO FAVOURITES
As some of you know, the whole of the Grays Antiques basement was flooded some weeks ago. Vintage Modes - of which I am part - has had to be completely cleared. Our cabinets are still functional and are being sold from by the Grays Staff. It will probably not be until the end of October before our shop is revamped. In the meantime I am just playing with the jewellery! Here are some of my Art Deco favourites! #ArtDecoCompact #ArtDecoNecklace #ArtDecoDressClip #ArtDecoHatFlash

CELLULOID BAG TOP/FRAME - ART DECO - ORIENTAL FISHES DESIGN
This is a celluloid bag top/frame. It would have had a material bottom. There are holes for sewing. It has two Oriental fishes and a face inside a flower. It would have been from the Art Deco period. Ladies would purchase the frame and make a bag to match their outfit! It would most likely have been made in Japan. These frames are now very collectible - especially when the frame hinges and catch work, as this one does! www.gillianhorsup.com - reference 2681 B81/12 price £140. #CelluloidBagFrameArtDeco #CelluloidBagFrameOrientalFishDesign #CelluloidBagFrameFishes

VINTAGE JEWELLERY - GILLIAN HORSUP - VINTAGE MODES - FLOOD
I sell Vintage Jewellery at Grays Antiques in central London. My stand is in Vintage Modes at Grays Mews. Unfortunately at the moment - 12th August 2014 - the basement at Grays Mews is flooded and we are not able to open. I do not know how long it will take to dry the shop out. Thames Water still have not come to drain the basement - which is making the situation much worse. Please ring the Grays telephone - 020 7629 7034 - before you come. Luckily our goldfish - in the river Tyburn stream that passes through our basement - have been saved! I am still selling through my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com
