CHERUB EARRINGS - VINTAGE GOLD TONE & FAUX PEARL DROP, PIERCED

A pair of vintage, gold tone, cherub earrings with a faux pearl drop.  Art Nouveau style.  These earrings have come out of a shop that opened in 1900 and closed in 1972.  Lots of jewellery was assembled from older components - particularly Egyptian Revival items.  Full details on the web site with measurements.  Price £55 Ref: 3355 YL

CELLULOID VINTAGE HAIR COMB - CREAM & GOLD WITH DIAMANTE

A  large, cream coloured, vintage hair comb. It is in a creamy, ivory colour and has

a gold floral pattern and diamante stones round the top edge On the back it is marked 'Solid Gold' - which refers to the gold painted decoration. I think this was made during the first part of the twentieth century. It is not Art Deco in style. It measures about 5 inches x 3 1/4 inches and is in good used condition. Ref: D42/18

NEIGER EGYPTIAN REVIVAL BEADS NECKLACE -WHITE BROWN BEADS - ELEPHANT & SCARABS

A Neiger long Egyptian Revival bead necklace in white with brown. There is an elephant bead in the centre where the two sides join, and 8 scarab beads. I am attributing this to Neiger as the quality of the beads is so good - although of course little was signed.
However I do not think this is the original stringing so have no way of knowing if this was the original design. The original thread would probably have been silk and this would have deteriated after nearly 90 years! The stringing is not new but is safe to wear. The beads are in good condition for their age. Top to bottom the necklace measures about 19 1/2 inches and goes over the head easily. If you are new to Max Neiger you might like to read my notes on him under Manufacturers My Notes - at the bottom of the scroll down list. ref: 3348 YL

LEA STEIN BROOCH - THE HALF COLERETTE - IVORINE, NAVY & MOP

This is the Lea Stein half colerette - or half ruff - brooch.  This one was first designed between 1968-1980.  It is in navy, ivorine and a creamy yellow colour with mother of pearl type shiny pieces included. I do not often get a navy colerette and was pleased to get this.  It is a genuine Lea Stein - beware the cheap immitations that are everywhere at the moment.  It is marked Lea Stein Paris on the pin.  Full details on my web site as usual - www.gillianhorsup.com - where you will find where to find my shop in central London.  RefL 3348 D43/19
