VENDOME VINTAGE BROOCH - PINK & MAUVE SPUTNIK SHAPE

This brooch is by Vendome and is in a Sputnik type shape.  The Vendome mark on the back dates the brooch to between 1944-1970.  Sputnik was launched in 1957 - so the brooch probably dates to around 1960.  It has pink and mauve beads and is marked on the back.  Full details on the web site - see the link.  Price £65 reference 2912 C35/4

LEA STEIN BROOCH - THE CICADA - BLACK & RED

CZECH VINTAGE BROOCH - GREEN STONES & ELABORATE BRASS METALWORK

Thie is a Czech brooch from the Art Deco Period - probably made in Gablonz by an unknown maker.  It has a large green centre stone and smaller ones - all claw set.  The conch shaped metal pieces are mounted on a filigree base - and the metal work would have been gold plate on brass.  The gold plate has aged!  Full details on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com price £95 reference 2911 C35/8.  These brooches are so scare in an undamaged state that I was glad to get this one!

LEA STEIN BROOCH - THE ELEPHANT

This is the large Lea Stein elephant brooch.  It is in horn, black and ivorine - very elephant like colours!  It is one of the bigger Lea Stein brooches - being nearly 3 inches from top to bottom. It has a tiny striped eye.  There is such a lot of work in a Lea Stein brooch - and the cellulose acetate is not a nice material to work with.  Hope this one will go to a good home!  Price £65.  Reference 2910 C32/12  Lea stein Brooch - The Elephant

LARGE FISH BROOCH - GOLD TONE, DIAMANTE, PINK, BLUE & PEARL

WHITING & DAVIS VINTAGE WHITE METAL MESH BAG WITH PLASTIC HANDLE

SARAH COVENTRY VINTAGE GILT METAL & FAUX PEARL FLOWER SPRAY BROOCH/PIN

I am not normally a particular fan of Sarah Coventry but do like this gilt and faux pearl flower bud brooch.  Sarah Coventry was sold at jewellery parties between 1949 and 1984.  Reference 2907 C34/26 price £45.  I always have a good selection of gold tone vintage jewellery in my shop at Vintage Modes in central London.

LEA STEIN BROOCH - THE EMERALD GREEN LYING DOWN CAT

Another Lea Stein brooch - because they are so popular in my shop!  I just love this colour - emerald green.  The brooch is the lying down cat and it has ivorine features.  It is of course a genuine Lea Stein with the Lea Stein Paris pin. This is a contemporary red cherry necklace on a black chain.  It is probably by Marion Godard Paris - but I bought it privately - and it has been worn.  I also have 3 pairs of cherry earrings that are new - and would go wonderfully!  Makes me long for summer!  Reference 2903 C30/1 Price £95

DIOR - VINTAGE BLUE GLASS LONG CLIP EARRINGS - DATED 1963

These are quite unusual earrings - being long and thin.  They are made of blue moulded glass and gilt metal with clip fittings.  They are marked - Made in Germany - c Christian Dior - 1963 - on the back of both earrings.  The tops have 9 glass stones to imitate turquoise.  They are over 3 inches in length.  Full details on my web site.  Reference 2902 C33/2 Price £120

Love this Lea Stein panther brooch in black with muted colours decoration.  That is what is so interesting about Lea Stein's work - each brooch looks so different - so many colour, pattern and design differences.  Ref: 2901 C6/33
