MICRO PETIT POINT SMALL BAG WITH JADE CLASP
Today I have been thinking about petit point. I have just bought this wonderful micro petit point bag with a carved jade clasp (see full description on my website). It got me thinking about how these were made. I measured the number of stiches per inch and was amazed to find it was about 40. (That is 1600 per square inch!). Can you image what this did to your eyes! How many hours did it take? (And why - just why did they do it!). There is even something called micro petit point - with even more stitches to the inch! Ref: 2140 B52/27. Price £140. See me in Grays Antiques in central London (in Grays Mews - not the main building). Photos, maps and more details on - here's my web site

VERY LARGE VINTAGE GILT HOOP EARRINGS
These large, vintage, gilt hoop earrings have been borrowed by lots of magazines for photoshoots! You can see them in Twenty6 Magazine Issue E photographed by Louise Samuelsen and styled by Rathel Bakewell. It is hard to find large, good quality, gilt hoop earrings - and ever since Vogue featured some of mine in a photoshoot I have been watching out for good examples. This pair are £58 and the reference number is 933 B53/2. You will see them on my web site click here and they are listed under 'vintage earrings'. You can also see the Twenty6 magazine picture under 'Publicity/photoshoots'. I always have a good selection of vintage clip earrings in my shop at Vintage Modes in central London (Grays Antiques - near Bond Street tube station).
