TATLER APRIL 2012

Have some jewellery in this month's Tatler. The big thing at the moment is pastels and small floral clip earrings - which a lot of the magazines are borrowing from me. So - if you want to be up to date - do come to Grays to see the selection of vintage jewellery that we have there! This pair of small, plastic, turquise flowers clips earrings are £15 - a bargain! see 'Sense of Occasion' styled by Anna Bromilow and photographed by Luis Monteiro.

PAVONE FISH IN A BOWL BROOCH

This Pavone brooch of a fish in a bowl has a wonderful sense of humour.  Pavone makes jewellery out of old pieces of galalith - but I have not seen many pieces like this!  I am Pisces so love all fish jewellery.  Full description on my web site - http://www.gillianhorsup.com/ - also check out my notes on Pavone under 'Manufacturers'.  Ref: B70/39 price £68.  I always have a good selection of brooches at my shop in Vintage Modes, Grays Antiques - near Bond Street tube station in central London.

LEA STEON BROOCH - RED & BLACK CICADA

This is a red and black cicada brooch by Lea Stein Paris. (All my Lea Stein have the correct markings on the back). The cicada is my favourite out of all the Lea Stein designs. This one looks very Art Deco in its red and black colourings. The cicada is one of the bigger Lea Stein brooches - being nearly 3 1/2 inches long. It has no glitter - for those who are not keen on it! Ref: 2037 B73/35. Price £55. See my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com and my Facebook page - Gillian Horsup Vintage Jewellery - or come to my shop at Grays Antiques, near Bond Street Tube Station in central London!

ART DECO STYLE GREEN GLASS, WHITE PASTE & ONXY EARRINGS

I cannot get the really lovely, original, Art Deco earrings. This pair are made by some people that I know. They are made of green glass, white paste and have onxy drops. They measure approx 3 inches. On very close examination you can see they have no signs of ageing or wear. Otherwise they look just like an original pair. I would be worried - if I had an original pair - that I might loose one. I would still be upset if I lost one of these - but not to the same extent! (Originals are very expensive). 2032 B20/43. Price £95. See full description on www.gillianhorsup.com - and see me on Facebook - Gillian Horsup Vintage Jewellery. Or - if you can - come to Grays Antiques (The Mews) near Bond Street Tube Station in central London.

ART DECO CREAM & BLACK GLASS BEADS NECKLACE

This is a wonderful necklace reflecting the glass bead maker's skill. The seven larger cream beads have been overlaid with black swirls of glass - not easy to do. Would look good in summer or winter! Price £95. Ref: 2021 B54/25. Full description on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - and see me on Facebook - Gillian Horsup Vintage Jewellery. I am at Vintage Modes in Grays Antiques near Bond Street tube station in central London. There is a huge selection of jewellery, clothes, bags and accessories to look at - please do visit us!

CIRO PEARLS - VINTAGE WHITE PASTE DRESS CLIP

I love white paste jewellery. (Some people call them rhinestones - but they are not!). You could call them diamente - they are immitation diamonds. The 1930's is my favourite period for selling. (They had immitation diamonds in Georgian times but I am not likely to find any of that!). This piece was made by Ciro Pearls (Which is why it is a little more expensive than some - and it is one of the smaller ones). The two dress clips come apart to be work separately - maybe either side of a square necked dress. It is in good condition - bright and sparkley - the photo does not do it justice. Ref: 2018 B70/5 - Price £88. www.gillianhorsup.com and see me on Facebook - Gillian Horsup Vintage Jewellery - or better still come into the shop to the the variety I have on disply!
