ART DECO CREAM CELLULOID SNAKE BANGLES

I do love Art Deco celluloid snake bangles and buy them whenever I can - any colour/size/width/price!  Here are 5 in various sizes in a cream colour.  They do - of course - come in lots of other colours - but there always seem to be more cream ones.  Please let me know if you are looking for anything in particular!  www.gillianhorsup.com - reference 2735

LEA STEIN BROOCH - SILVER & BLUE LARGE BUTTERFLY BROOCH

This Lea Stein butterfly brooch - the large version - is in a most unusual colour.  The outside has a silver pattern.  The inside is a blue colour with circles.  It was so difficult to photograph and the photo does not do justice to the silver colouring.  It is quite a large brooch - being approximately 3 1/2 x 3 inches.  Price £68 reference 2734 C4/44 www.gillianhorsup.com

CELLULOID DOG BROOCHES

Since moving back into my shop at Grays Antiques,  I have had problems putting all the stock back - there just does not seem to be the space for all the vintage jewellery I had in there before the flood!  I had not found a place for these celluloid dog brooches yet - but will have to find somewhere.  If you like any of them - please do contact me before coming to the shop - just in case!  (My website has a 'contact me' section - www.gillianhorsup.com)

VINTAGE DIAMANTE DOUBLE DRESS CLIPS BROOCH - SELECTION

I love vintage diamante double dress clips brooches - especially the Art Deco looking ones!  I always have a good selection in my shop at Grays Antiques in London.  Dress clip brooches come apart into two dress clips which clip onto a metal frame.  There are so many different types of frames and dress clips!  I have even seen ones that have small clip earrings attached two.  I even had one with a diamante ring that clipped on by swiveling
the shank shut. These 5 range from between £65 and £85.  If you are interested in purchasing a diamante double dress clip brooch do get in touch telling me what sort you would like!

CHINESE CINNABAR LAQUER - BUCKLE & 6 BUTTONS

Here are 6 Chinese cinnabar lacquer buttons and a buckle.  They are not matching but were probably bought together.  They have a Chinese paper label and were probably from the 1920/30s.  The buttons are slightly darker and the buckle.  Full description on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - price £95 reference 2732 C5/1.  Chinese cinnabar lacquer is built up layer by layer and then carved.  The imitations are made of plastic.  It would be easy to make a belt with this buckle.

CORO SET - VINTAGE NECKLACE & BRACELET - LUCITE AND OPALINE STONES

This is a Coro set in gold tone metal - made up of a necklace and bracelet. It is probably 1950's.  The light blue ?lucite stones have pieces of gilt metal inside.  There is a full description of this set on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - look under Vintage Sets.  It is fully marked.  A good example of Coro's use of early plastics - the style is looking backwards but the Lucite is looking to the future!  Price £120 reference 2731 C1/23 - Come and see our huge stock at Grays Antiques in central London.

BLUE STONES & DIAMANTE GOLD TONE VINTAGE CLIP EARRINGS

In my shop at Grays Antiques - where I have a large selection of vintage jewellery -  clip earrings are always popular.  So many of our customers tell us they have difficulty finding them!  Have just got in these sapphire coloured stones gold tone clips.  I am not sure of the date but they are so very well made - but have no name.  Perhaps they were part of a named set.  See full description on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - price £65 reference 2730 C4/4  quality and  condition very good.

ART DECO SMALL HANDBAG MIRROR - CALIFORNIA IN ENGLAND

This is a small handbag mirror. It has a great Art Deco picture of a stylized
woman in a bathing costume and a sun shade. The writing says A Souvenir from California-in-England, Nr. Wokingham, Berks. I had to look this up in Wikipedia as I had never heard of it. It was apparently established as an amusement part and zoo in 1931. It had an Art Deco main building with a famous sprung glass floored ballroom - which was unfortunately destroyed by fire. It is now known as the California Country Park. It is in good (but not perfect) condition for its age. It measures approx. 2 inches across. Ref: 2728 C1/43 Price £35.
