This filigree dress clip is unusual. At first glance I thought the black, fan shaped black glass pieces were lots of separate stones - but looking through a magnifier I realise that there are just 2 black glass fan shaped pieces. The cream enamel is hard enamelling not painted. It is a beautifully made clip! The clip fitting at the back is made so that you could put it on a gilt chain of a reasonable thickness if you wanted to wear it round the neck. Love it! Ref: 2390 B94/52 Price £75 - www.gillianhorsup.com - I always have a selection of dress clips in my shop at Grays Antiques in central London - details on my web site.

here are 3 black & paste Art Deco hat pins. They are made of black celluloid and have short pins. They would have been worn in a cloche type hat. I can provide and end so they could be worn anywhere. Art Deco accessories are very popular at they moment - inspired by T.V. and films. I always have a good selection of Art Deco jewellery - and have a number of the hat pins at the moment. Ref: 2388 B109/25,26.27. Price £35 each.

This is something I would wear! There is a piece of cut, swirley green bakelite set in the middle of brass wire decoration. (It may have been gilded originally). It looks very 40s/50s. Not sure - but it certainly makes a statement. I love bakelite and always have a selection of pieces in my shop at Grays Antiques. This piece is £88 and the reference is 2377 B95/10. I always have a good selection of gold tone jewellery - and it sells well in my shop.

This pair of earrings are seriously large! They are 3 3/4 inches from top to bottom approx. They are in a black plastic with bands of black, orange and red on the bottom ball. Such fun! I do not know the date - but not many earrings are made as clips these days. I love large earrings and try to have a selection in my shop at Grays Antiques (see full details on my web site). This pair are £68 and the reference is 2369 B101/10. I expect they stylists will love them and they will soon go out on a photoshoot! www.gillianhorsup.com

Some time ago I was lucky to buy a quantity of round and diamond shaped bakelite pieces which I am slowly making up into wearable jewellery. My jeweller has added small rings to the pieces so that I could attach a pair of silver, lever backed (pierced) earrings fittings. The bakelite pieces test positive for bakelite with simichrome cream and the colours look good with other bakelite items in similar colours. Full details on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - the earrings are £45 and the reference number is 2368. I love bakelite and always have some pieces in my shop at Vintage Modes, Grays Antiques. (Full details on the web site).

Love Askew jewellery - and they are one of the few British costume jewellery firms to mark their pieces! This is a gilt hand brooch - I do not know the date. It has a faux pearl in the ring and a square white paste glass stone in the bracelet. Full details on my web site - www.gillianhorsup.com - price £75 reference 2366 B106/1. I usually try to have a few pieces of vintage Askew in my shop. My customers seem to like hand brooches and I have several different ones at the moment.
